Coach Elizabeth Azze of Mountain Peak Fitness will be leading a beginner trail running clinic on Sunday Nov. 8th at Bear Mountain State Park @ 8:00 am. The session will last around 1.5 hours and will cover strategies for running on technical (rocky, rooty terrain), uphill/downhill running techniques and how to approach navigation while out on the trail.
Participants should be able to run 4 miles continuously on the road.
Wear appropriate gear for the weather of the day, such as a long sleeve technical fabric shirt, wind shell, lightweight glove, capris or tights and trail running shoes.
Bring one 20ounce hand held water bottle or small hydration pack and sports nutrition such as a sport gel.
If you’re able please bring along NY/NJ Trail Conference map 119, if you have a smart phone download the Avenza app this will allow you download the map onto your smart phone. Be sure your phone is 100% charged.
